A Little Off the Top

Photographs for this post were taken by Ellen Ladwig.

Haircuts went all around at the Ladwig household last night. Trevor was starting to look pretty shaggy, so even though it was 9 o'clock at night, I decided it was time. We stripped him down and with a little coaxing convinced him he needed it.

With Trevor all done and looking handsome we decided to bite the bullet and give Levi his first haircut.

I was extremely nervous. My haircutting skills are not all that great and I have never cut a babies hair before. We never cut Trevor's hair until he was 18 months old. By then, you can trick them into being a little more still.

Levi, was anything but still. He wiggled and jumped and bounced and squirmed, but with a lot of help from Daddy, we were able to give him just a little trim. We cleaned up around his ears and his rat-tail in the back and I cut off some of the long spots.

There were some tears...

and some awkward positions...

But all in all he did pretty good.

After Levi was done it was Daddy's turn. Daddy only needed a tiny little trim, mostly in the back. Landon cuts his own hair most of the time. This decision stems from an incident a few years ago where I botched it pretty badly. Well, when he cut his hair a couple of weeks ago he missed a spot in the back that looked like he was trying to have a comb-over for his bald spot. I'm just saying, maybe it wasn't an accident. Any which way, it wasn't looking so good, so we fixed that as well.

When all was said and done I had three well trimmed, very cute boys on my hands. And what a handsome bunch they are!
