Today is my Ella Bella's Birthday. She is five years old today and I can hardly believe what a big girl she is. We spent the whole weekend celebrating her birthday with her first friend birthday party on Saturday and then a family birthday party on Sunday.
Ellen decided last year that she wanted a Dora birthday party for her 5 birthday and it never changed throughout the whole year. (She also decided then that she wanted a princess birthday party for her 6 birthday and that is still on schedule as well.) We ended up with about 6 little girls from the ward and preschool and Lucy White. (Ellen's longest and bestest friend.) The girls were so cute and it was fun to see them all playing together. They ate chicken nuggets and homemade french fries and watched Dora the Explorer World Adventures. In the movie Dora and Swiper are taking friendship bracelets to kids all over the world so the little girls each got to make their own friendship bracelets. It was fun to see each of the personalities come out when making their bracelet.
After the movie and bracelets we decorated cupcakes and sang and blew. She got some really cute gifts from her friends. Thanks to everbody! She has already been enjoying all of her new presents.

She got lots of great presents from the family including school uniforms from Grandma and Papa Kunz, a princess blanket and new scripture scout CD from Grandma and Papa Ladwig, Books, Littlest Pet Shop, new ballet shoes, new play shoes and lots of other things. I think her favorite gift came from Aunt Annie and Jaycee and is a Piggy Bank that she was able to paint. She painted it tonight and when she was finished was proud to announce to me that, "Mommy, I am an artist."

Showing off a shirt she got from Mom and Dad.
The infamous piggy bank. Isn't it lovely!
Landon and I have been reflecting over the weekend at what a special event her birthday is. I love all of my kiddos the same, but there really is a special place in your heart for the oldest, only because their birth changed your life forever. Before Ellen, I wasn't a Mommy, and in one quick moment everything changed. I have explained to other before, but Landon made my life happy, Ellen gave my life purpose. So, thank you my sweet baby girl. You are the best gift I ever received. I love you!

I laughed my head off when I saw the picture of Lucy. She looks so much like her parents!
Hooray for Scripture Scouts. My kids listen to them too.
Happy Birthday Ellen!
