Lots of pictures on this one for the Grandma and Papa in Colorado. We love you!
Easter was truly a blast for us this year. Ellen and Trevor were both plenty big to get the idea of what we were doing and also plenty big to not make too much of a mess of things. Levi was really cute too, just liking being involved. Easter was a busy weekend for us with it being both General Conference and Ellen's birthday celebrations, but we managed to squeeze everything in.
We were able to get together with Renee and her kids to dye eggs on Saturday after conference. We gathered in Renee's basement so that we didn't have to worry about the floor. Trevor is notorious for making huge messes when we dye eggs. He normally just throws them in the cup. While we did spill a little, it was significantly better than the previous years. Landon was able to help Trevor try to be soft and not just throw the eggs. Instead of getting dye all over himself this year, he decided to get it on the inside of him.
Yep, that's blue in his mouth. The very first thing he did when we sat him at the table was take a big swig of the blue dye. Yummy! After we got it out of his hands, took this picture and were all still laughing about it it tried to get a steal of the green one as well. Landon was quick on the draw that time and stopped him.
Ellen was her usual clean, and precise self. Her eggs all looked beautiful and she did a good job organizing the boys to share the colors so everyone got a turn with all of the colors.
Trevor did manage to throw a few eggs to Landon's dismay. And Levi participated by practicing his walking.
When all was said and done, the eggs looked beautiful as well as their hands from having dye on them. This was a great matter of concern for Braiden who is a clean freak with his hands. He didn't notice the color change of his hands until we had finished, but when he did there was some very serious stress over the matter. Renee took him to the bathroom and washed his hands as best she could. Braiden was happy as could be when he got out of the bathroom until he looked down at his hands and noticed they were still blue. He was becoming "okay" with it when we had to leave.

What beautiful girls, Renee and Maggie.
On Sunday morning we headed up to Annie and Jason's to see what the Easter Bunny had left us. Grandma and Papa Kunz were there as well as Uncle Bud and Aunt CharEl and Tyler. It was great to be with everybody and to get to share in Easter with everyone. The kids were jumping out of their skin to get outside and find the eggs.
The Easter Bunny did a good job of hiding eggs in all skill level of hiding spots. Some up high and hard for Jaycee to find, some in fairly obvious but still kind of hidden for Ellen and Trevor and plenty just laying on the ground for Levi to pick up. (And Tyler with some help from his Mommy and Daddy.)
After collecting all the eggs we went in and got a peak at what the Easter Bunny had given us in our baskets. Ellen got a new book and her new pride and joy, Jilly, the Zhu Zhu pet. Trevor got a model train that he loves, with a book and a dart gun. (In fact the train got left and Annie's and he has been asking ever since to go back and pick it up.) Levi got a book, glow stick, and a plastic slinky thing. He didn't care about any of it, he just wanted to play with the grass in the basket.
All in all, Easter was a blast. We are so grateful to have family to share in the fun with. It was also really nice to get to have conference on Easter this year. To celebrate the resurrection of Christ by listening to our apostles and prophet speak of Him and direct us on how to try to live our lives to be more like Him. What more can I say? Easter this year was AWESOME.
