This wart started on his hand a couple of months ago and just kept getting bigger. The week before last it started itching him and Landon told me to get him in to the doctor to get it taken off. I figured we better, but didn't think we were in any rush. What I didn't know and now do is that warts can open up. Did you know that? They open up and look all mushroomy and then they have this little prickly looking things that Landon calls seeds that poke out of them and really hurt ya. And yep, Trevor's was one of those. So, after it did this and a chagrined Mama had to admit that we didn't have a doctor's appointment, I quickly made one.
Trevor knows that going to the doctor usually isn't good. Someone is going to end up getting hurt, he just usually assumes it is Levi. So, when we left Levi at home there was a huge fit and a realization that it was going to be him. It took me the whole car ride up to the doctor's office to convince him that he wasn't going to get a shot. (I didn't have the heart to tell him that getting his wart burnt off would be just as bad.) Dr. Burton was a lot better than me and told Trevor it would hurt right up front. And the Dr. doesn't lie. It hurt my heart to hold his little hand open and help the Dr. spray the freeze stuff on it. After it was all done we sat in the room snuggling together until he felt a little better.
As I was checking us out and getting Trevor his sticker and sucker and speaking with the receptionist about how much our copay was, Trevor announced:
"My wart doesn't hurt as bad. I'm so happy!"
Everyone in the doctor's office broke out laughing. It was so cute. And he repeated himself several times. Truly, truly, happy that his wart didn't hurt anymore. To reward him for being such a big boy we stopped off at Arctic Circle and got him a courtesy cone. Stinking cute boy!
