Happy Easter 2011!!!

Easter this year for us was one fun-filled packed weekend. And we loved every minute of it. Our Easter celebrating started with Trevor's preschool Easter Egg Hunt. Both Landon and I were able to go to watch these kids hunt eggs. They were so cute.

Trevor attends preschool with Miss Leslee. She does this hunt every year and really goes all out. She had tons of them all over her yard.

Levi got to come too and even got to participate. He shared Trevor's bag and the two boys worked together well and had a blast doing it. We came home with lots of eggs full of lots of yummy candy.

Our next Easter Activity was on Saturday morning. We were invited to share in the Dixon family Easter egg hunt up at Grandpa Gordan's. There were four families, and again, our hosts went all out for the kids. There were literally hundreds of eggs. Gordan's house has a huge yard around it including a lot of trees and they hid the eggs everywhere. There were eggs hidden up high for the big kids and tons hidden low for the little ones.

Gordan and his wife Lisa provided breakfast for us before the hunt and then we headed out the door for the eggs. After the kids found all of the eggs they had a scavenger hunt for all of the kids. Each kid had a bag specifically made for them with presents and goodies. Even though our kids are not one of their grandkids they made bags for them too. It was incredibly sweet.

The start of the hunt.

Levi was the last one out, but it didn't hinder his enthusiasm.

Luckily Daddy got off of work in enough time to participate with us. He is a good helper at finding eggs.

This is one of the only pictures I got of Ellen at the event. She was moving too fast for me to keep up and be able to snap a shot.

As you can see in this picture, the Wonder Pet costume could not be left, even for Easter.

Annie with Baby Eve.

Eve really seemed to enjoy her first Egg Hunt. She slept peacefully through the whole thing.

Levi was hilarious while hunting eggs. He was perfect for getting pictures. He would find an egg, or be directed to one, and then while picking it up look straight up at us with a huge smile on his face. I got sooooo many cute pictures of him.

Trevor and Levi working together.

It is kind of hard to see in this picture, but Levi is walking right past an egg. We had pointed out the egg to him, he told us he saw it, and then walked right over the top of it. We had to direct him back to it. He did this several times.

On Saturday night we finally were able to dye the eggs that we had bought. Even though after the Dixon egg hunt we wouldn't have had to. We came back with right around 50 real eggs. That doesn't include the some 20 or so plastic that we came back with.
I have a cute bunch!

This was the first year that Trevor did not try to drink the dye! Yay! He also didn't make a huge mess. Thanks Miss Leslee for dying eggs at preschool. He kept telling us about it and telling us that we had to be careful.

Ellen is always so precise and deliberate in her egg dying.

Levi was actually not too messy. He liked using the spoons so his hands didn't get dyed. He did end up knocking over a cup of green dye towards the end.

We only had 18 eggs to dye, so we got done quickly, but the kids seemed to have fun. After what we picked up at the Dixon hunt, we didn't really need anymore for hiding anyway.

Ripley got to come inside for some of the action as well.

The Easter Bunny came to visit us as our house on Sunday morning. He left eggs everywhere!!!! Between all the real eggs we had and the plastic eggs we had well over a hundred eggs to hide. Because there were so many eggs we decided not to have the kids put them in their baskets and gave them bags instead.

Youngest to Oldest.

Trevor found his basket pretty quickly. He got a new Thomas the Train Engine. This one is Salty and he talks!

Levi was a little overwhelmed at the number of eggs at first, but he got into the spirit quickly.

It took a while, but Ellen finally found her basket. She was sooo excited. She got a "Tangled" Barbie doll with hair extensions.

Levi was insistent on carrying both his basket and his present. He got a Thomas the Train Take'n'go Station, Knapford Station.

After the egg hunt we had our annual sticky bun breakfast and got ready quickly to go to church. Church was enjoyable with a nice spirit there to remind us why we truly celebrate Easter. I am grateful for my family and all of the joy they bring to me. I am also grateful for the Savior and his sacrifice and gift of everlasting life. I can't wait to spend eternity with these wonderful people I love.

Happy Easter!!!
