Grandma and Grandpa Ladwig were the first to arrive. Grandma was about jumping out of her skin to meet her new little granddaughter. This was the first picture we took of Grandma Ladwig and Kat.
Next to arrive were Aunt Annie and Uncle Jason with their girls. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of them meeting Kat. I think that Aunt Annie was just about as anxious to meet Kat as Grandma Ladwig was. It was so, so, so nice to have my sister in my home and to just get to sit and relax with her. She is one of the things I miss the very most from Pocatello. I made dinner and we sat and talked. Ella and Jaycee played and did some other fun things...to come in a future post, Kat let everyone snuggle her, and Eve dazzled everyone in a way that only Eve can do.
The next next night Uncle Eric and Aunt Audra with their kiddos (minus Carson) showed up. Grandpa Ladwig took us out to dinner and then we came back to our house to....work on our fence. Yep, that's right. We invited family to visit us and then put them to work. We spent the rest of the night, at least the part where we had light, trying to dig holes into the unforgivable Tooele soil.
On Sunday our house was full of the rest of our family and it was flowing over with love and laughter. More on that in a different post.
On Labor Day the family fun continued with Landon's Aunt Moana and family and his Uncle Reid coming out to help us more with the fence. They worked hard all morning long and got most of the post holes dug for the fence and even a few of the posts cemented in. While the majority of the family was digging holes I was inside with Landon's cousin Roseanne getting newborn pictures of Kat. (Also, revealed in a different post.) After all the hard work we had a BBQ and laughed and enjoyed each other's company some more.
That weekend changed things for our home. Not just getting work done for a fence, but leaving love and family memories here, helping our home to feel more like HOME. We are so grateful to have such loving families and can't wait for them to all come visit again.
