Aunt Renee's Visit

The beginning of July brought a wonderful visit for us, Aunt Renee and kiddos came to stay for a couple of days. Renee graduated from her LPN program at the beginning of July and felt the need to begin celebrating by traveling, and we were her first visit.

As I have mentioned many times before on this blog, Renee is my angel. She loves to
serve and be of any help that she can. With all of my moves, Renee has always been there. In fact, our last move to our house on Meadowbrook she unpacked the entire house. I mean it, she literally unpacked the entire house. The only room she didn't do was my bedroom. I was bogged down with morning sickness being pregnant with Levi so she stepped up and I couldn't have done it without her.

Renee was anxious to come and help us with this move as well. Plus, she and I have become fantastic friends and we missed each other and one another's kids. Our kiddos really have been raised together and were missing each other terribly. So, Renee arrived on a Monday and stayed through Thursday afternoon.

While she was here we were able to talk, our favorite thing to do, as well as get some work done. Renee has the same determination as her mom, so she was able to help us finish unloading most of the garage. We were also able to get the rest of the house unpacking finished, that included my office. In order to finish the office we needed to get some storage, so, Renee took me to IKEA. It was my first time and it was fun. We ate lunch there and walked through the showrooms. We had to do it somewhat quickly so that our children wouldn't revolt, but it was still fun. We were able to find some fabulous shelves that Renee and Landon put up for me later that day.

Along with the work that the adults did, the kids did a lot of playing. Ellen loved playing with Maggie and "practicing" for her little sister. Trevor and Braiden have always had a love hate relationship, that I think leaned more to the love side this time. My favorite moment of play happened between Trevor and Braiden. They were playing swords and chasing each other around when Braiden announced, "Come on, let's go cut off John the Baptist's arms." Trevor responded with an enthusiastic "Yeah!!!!" Some how Braiden seems to have mixed up the story of John the Baptist and Ammon. At least we know he has been paying attention to some of primary and family home evening.

More than all the work that Renee was able to get done in her visit, which was quite a lot, it was just nice to have family in our home. I have to admit that even though we have had plenty of visitors, our house still seems somewhat vacant without having siblings stopping by regularly. Renee was the first of the siblings to come and visit and it meant the world to us. She blessed our house with her spirit and made it feel a little bit more like home.

Thanks for visiting Renee, Braiden and Maggie! We love you and hope you will do it again soon!
